Lydia's fairytale Matric dance

This fairytale began when Joburg came together to help Lydia. Her mother had a simple request, to help her get her to the Matric dance, and boy did the 947 Breakfast Club come to the party...

Watch as she had the most luxurious day, and stepped out in style for her Matric Dance...

Thank you to all the generous people and companies that contributed to make her night so special!

We’d like to convey our heartfelt thanks to the following:

Samantha Goncalves, representing FootFashion.co.za where Lydia picked her favourite pair of shoes (imported all the way from the U.S), as well as the spa treatment she just enjoyed with her mother Nomsa, at AE Beauty Spa tat the Radisson Blue.

Renard De Souza from Umhlanga Resources for a cash contribution of R2 000 in cash.

Natalie Lubbe, whose family contributed R10 000 cash.

Best Ndlovu is here to represent Boston City Campus. Thank you for their amazing offer to pay for Lydia’s first year of tuition after she matriculates.

Theresa Harrison from Huawei, for the stunning and groundbreaking Huawei P10 that Lydia will use to capture her favourite moments tonight.

Mandy from Absolut Flowers and Absolute Beauty for accessories that Lydia will be donning tonight.

Dr Edwin Alberts from Melrose Dental Studio, who were so kind with a teeth whitening treatment for Lydia so that smile of her can sparkle even more tonight.

Christelle Van Rensburg, who sponsored full photography services so that Lydia never forgets this special day.

Piet Van Vuuren from Spar, who couldn’t be here this afternoon. Spar contributed a voucher for groceries worth R5000 for Lydia’s family for the next 12 months.

Someone else who couldn’t be here is Minnie Dlamini, who gave Lydia the gorgeous dress she wore when she won Glamour Woman Of The Year Award a couple of years ago. She was with Lydia during lunch earlier.

Sonnyboy hair & Beauty salon for doing Lydia’s hair and make up for tonight.

Thanks to Colleen Vilela from Daytona Sandton for providing transportation for Lydia and her partner Martin in the luxurious and powerful sports car, Aston Marton

Ronesha from Perfect 10 Nail & Body Studio for doing Lydia’s nails for tonight.

Njabulo Seh, who is adding a soundtrack to this meet and greet right now. He’s an Afrosoul musician playing the piano right now.

And last but not least, the wonderful people from InterContinental Hotel, where we are having this event. They also booked rooms for Lydia and Martin to change for their matric dance.

If you’d like nothing but the best when it comes to your accommodation, give them a shout now. Bookings are open for those that will be attending the Standard Bank Joy Of Jazz between 28 and 30 September. Click here for more details.
