The second online Huawei Joburg Day went off without a hitch on Friday 28 May and from the responses on social media, it was well-received.
Showcasing the beauty of the city of Joburg was a priority when it came to looking for a perfect space... The Leonardo (Hotel) is a 55-floor building in the heart of Sandton, with stunning views of Joburg from its rooftop.
It was wonderful to watch the performances as the sun was setting in the background.
The other location was in a high state of the art studio, with a high-quality stage set and lighting.
The sound quality of the entire production was absolutely world-class.
947's Bloc Party Chrizz Beatz was all about dishing out the jams between some performances and it was 'just what the doctor ordered'. The music was perfectly mixed in and the range of genre and hits he played were spot on.
The musically infused afternoon commenced with two of Joburg's newcomers - Jordan Rivers and Courus - who were voted for by the listeners of 947 in a talent search competition early in the year.
Singer and songwriter, Jesse Clegg took to the screens and serenaded the audience. He was followed by the ever-energetic, electronic band, GoodLuck - who played their ever-popular hit single, 'Rum and Cola'.
The ever-popular rock band, Prime Circle made sure to include all the crowd favourites in their set, which got some of the listeners to 'get in their feels' on social media.
Black Motion was next and as usual, their sound had the listeners tapping their feet and wanting more. They featured Brendon Praise and Msaki, and their energy was phenomenal to watch.
DJ Zinhle took to the decks and what a sensational set she presented to the audience. Her intro as always had the crowd hyped.
Last by certainly not least, Mi Casa delivered a noteworthy performance making sure to include their ever-popular hits 'Mamela' and 'These Streets'.
