Tips on how to ask visitors to leave - politely
947 Drive with Thando host, Thando Thabethe was in Durban filming a television show in July/August. She was stuck in a hotel room when her Covid-19 results came back positive.
She tells the listeners about a time when during her stay in the room, a fellow cast member decided to visit Thando in her room to watch a show on her television.
After a few episodes, the cast member seemed far too comfortable and Thando wanted to go and take shower but needed her visitor to leave.
Thabethe used direct language to let her 'friend' visitor know that it was time to leave.
How do you politely ask someone to leave?
Listeners voice notes:
- 'Well, it was nice but you probably other places to go'.
- 'You know just before you came through, I took some sleeping tablets'.
- 'I'm going to bed now'.
You can't be that straightforward. You gotta find your special way or subtle way to able to actually be able to tell somebody.Alex Caige, 947 Drive With Thando
