Terms & Conditions

This competition runs from 6 June to 26 August 2022 on 947 – weekdays between 06:00 – 09:00am.

For a chance to participate on-air, you need to play the game online and enter your details when prompted.

947 will randomly select an entry from online, and the participant will be phoned to play Pop Quiz LIVE on-air.

The participant will be given 60 (sixty) seconds to answer as many of the 10 questions as they can.

Each answer they get correct will win them R100, and if they get all 10 answers correct, they’ll win R10 000 in cash. Cell C contract subscribers will win an additional R5 000 cash.

The participant’s personal information will be processed by 947 to validate their entry and if the participant is a prize winner, by 947 (where necessary) to make the prize available to the winner. By entering the competition, the participant consents to 947 processing his/her personal information for this purpose. If the participant does not consent, he/she must not enter the Competition.

The judge’s decision is final, and no further correspondence will be entered into.

The prize is not negotiable, and not transferrable and may not be exchanged for any other item. The sponsor of the prize namely the 947 (Primedia Broadcasting) however reserves the right to substitute the prize with any other prize of a similar commercial value.

A participant will not be able to win this competition if they have won a prize on 947, 702, CapeTalk and/or Kfm 94.5 within the past 90 days, whether on-air, online or via any of Primedia Broadcasting’s social media platforms.

If a winner chosen does not comply with these terms and conditions, their entry will be disqualified, and a new winner will be randomly drawn.

In the event that a winner cannot be successfully contacted, is ineligible to accept the prize, or contravenes the terms and conditions of this competition or of 947, the prize will be forfeit.

If the winner agrees to it, 947 may publish their name and/or photo in any internal or external advertising or promotional material for 12 months from the date on which the winner accepts the Prize. 947 will determine the nature and distribution of these materials. If a winner does not consent to the publication of their name and/or photo, the winner will still receive the prize.

No director or employee of Primedia Broadcasting or their agencies, service providers, consultants and members of their immediate family; nor members, staff, partners, consultants of the sponsors of the competition, and/or any of it’s affiliated companies and/or agencies, and members of their immediate family, may enter this Competition.

947 will not be held responsible for any SMS charges, data charges or phone costs incurred while participating in this competition.

947 assume no risk and/or liability whatsoever for the failure of any technical element in the Competition which may result in a participant’s entry not being successfully submitted and/or a winner not successfully receiving or taking up a prize. Once a winner accepts a prize, such winner accepts such prize at his/her own risk.

947 assumes no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss, harm or damage which the participant or any third party may suffer as a result of their voluntary participation in the competition or accepting any prize awarded in the competition.

947 reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice. Any changes to the competition will be notified to participants as soon as possible by the promoter.

By entering this competition, a participant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
