It’s a Friday, which means that the Suzuki #947Crew are in search of another #947JoburgGem. This timey, Sibo and Noni drove to the South of Johannesburg to the hub of South African 20th century history, the Apartheid Museum.
The Apartheid Museum is the first of its kind and it showcases the rise and fall of apartheid. The museum consists of three types of exhibitions, namely:
· the permanent exhibition that takes us on a journey of liberation,
· the Mandela exhibition that gives us an overview of his journey to becoming the president of South Africa, as well as
· temporary exhibitions that have a myriad of visual narratives that have captivated audiences with the aim of starting conversations.
The hidden entrance to the permanent exhibition forced Sibo and Noni to use different entrances to depict the segregation that existed during the apartheid era. However, at the exit of the exhibition, Sibo and Noni walked hand-in-hand to the national anthem and a gigantic display of the new South African flag.
Visiting the Apartheid Museum is one of the best educational experiences that makes learning about the history of South Africa more creative and memorable. The museum is great for school trips as well as family visits.

The Suzuki #947Crew would like to send a huge shutout to Noelene Bhyat who is the Operation HR, Payroll, and Events Manager at the Apartheid Museum for her hospitality and eagerness to share this precious #947JoburgGem with us.
